Mission LAIKA
Outer space. The infinite expanse. We embark on a space mission in search of Laika, the first living creature to orbit the Earth, long before human beings were able to follow in her path. This adventurous journey launches us past the sun, moon and stars as we travel beyond the Milky Way into far-away galaxies. As they deal with black holes and strange encounters, the crew members must face enormous challenges before they are ultimately able to accomplish their mission.
With this enchanting look at both real and fictional notions of the universe, we set out in search of stories that have been lost in the black holes of world history. A space adventure somewhere between documentary theatre, performance art and infotainment.
“A thrilling trip into outer space. … One of the most impressive works of art is the electronic music, which utilises the ethereal sounds of a theremin. … This production will fascinate children 6 and older as it explores the universe and takes a special cosmic look back at our wonderful yet fragile planet. Entertaining without pointing an overbearing pedagogical finger. … A highly enjoyable theatrical adventure, which celebrated its world premiere to enthusiastic applause.” Bonner Generalanzeiger, 29.10.2018
