Have You Heard?

A light-hearted musical theatre performance about wicked fairytales and the fear of hearsay.

Once upon a time, the animals lived happily and contentedly side by side, and none feared the other or worried about their own safety more than was necessary or good. Until one day, when the word “wolf” comes up out of the blue, it casts a dark shadow over their idyll, and their peace and tranquillity are gone for good. A sense of fear sets in which mounts with every bit of hearsay, building up until they’ve created a monster that would even make a wolf quake with fear. Though an actual wolf has not been seen around these parts since the wolves were chased away many years ago.

Stories of the Big Bad Wolf are ubiquitous. But what exactly makes the wolf a sinister creature? And what does it even mean to be “wicked”?

What makes our imaginations get carried away and spur fear of things we only know from hearsay? And where can fear lead once it is turned loose? This production questions the world of fairytales and plays around with the concept of fear.
